Care InstructionsHow to use: It is recommended that you preheat your Wiltshire Pizza Stone (approximately 30 minutes for best results). Always start with the stone in a cold oven and switch the oven on, if you put a cold pizza stone into a hot oven then there is the risk that the sudden change in temperature will cause the stone to crack. Lightly dust the pizza stone with flour or fine polenta, cornmeal or semolina which are slightly courser in texture before placing your pizza base on to avoid the base sticking to the stone. If your pizza sticks then you could also try forming the pizza on a piece of baking paper and sliding onto the stone, though the crust may not be quite as crisp using this method. Don't overload your pizza with toppings as this will create more moisture, preventing the crust from crisping and increasing the chances of the pizza sticking. If you are using vegetables you may like to pre-cook vegetables with a high water content (or slice them extremely thinly), to prevent too much liquid seeping towards the pizza base. Do not overheat an empty pizza stone. Do not leave an empty pizza stone unattended in the oven (especially at high settings). Do not use on oven in temperatures in excess of 260°C. Oven use only. Never place your pizza stove on the stove top, barbeque or allow direct contact with flame. Never use in the microwave. Always allow pizza stone to cool before cleaning.
